Whilst we are proud of the MATCHPLAY soil moisture range, we acknowledge that Mitchell Products are the leaders and specialists in this area. Mitchell Products created TriCure AD as an advanced soil surfactant designed to prevent and control hydrophobic soil conditions while maintaining optimum soil-water management. Unique soil treatment capabilities make TriCure AD the most effective multi-use soil surfactant available for treatment on the widest range of soil types and turf applications.
TriCure AD works by attaching to both soil and organic particles, reducing the surface tension of water, and attracting a thin film of water close to the particle surfaces. This allows the optimum moisture to be held for plant use while facilitating water release and effective drainage.
TriCure® is also available in pellets for application by hand watering. TriCure® is different from other commercial tablets in that they dissolve rapidly to deliver an effective wetting agent dose from the convenience of a hand held applicator. A single pellet treats a normal size golf green as opposed to competitor pellets which are mostly designed to simply increase surface penetration of hand watering.
Living Turf’s agency extends to other useful Mitchell Products including Terreplex®, a carbon-rich acidifier derived from the lignin in trees. Terreplex® is a natural organic polymer, fully biodegradable, non-phytotoxic, non-corrosive, and economical for use on turf. It enhances nutritional programs by releasing bound nutrients and increasing solubility. Its ability to complex with nutrients to improve absorption, while helping to reduce bicarbonate and sodium levels. Terreplex® provides carbon to stimulate microbial activity, improves flocculation and soil permeability, adjusts soil pH levels and de-scales irrigation lines.
Another useful product is Terafirm which is a non-phytotoxic soil penetrant developed to promote accelerated water movement away from the soil surface. This is accomplished by reducing the water’s surface tension and facilitating downward water movement. Formulated solely to facilitate downward water movement, Terafirm will not contribute to excess water holding. Regular use of Terafirm offers the turf professional an effective tool to help maintain drier soil surface conditions.
TFAIR® is the latest addition to the Mitchell Products range, being developed as a lower cost option for large turf areas to prevent hydrophobic soil conditions, when TriCure isn’t an option. TFAIR is an advanced, non-phytotoxic wetting agent that facilitates the uniform movement of water into the rootzone creating a balance of water, air, and nutrients for plant health.
