Tribeca - The Ultimate Dual-Action Solution
28, February 2025
Turf Culture are committed to continually finding innovative ways to protect and strengthen turf against challenging diseases. Tribeca is a powerful, broad-spectrum fungicide that combines Fludioxonil and Triticonazole, providing both protective and curative action for some of the most persistent turf diseases, including Ectotrophic Root Infecting Fungi (ERI) such as Spring Dead Spot.

Why Tribeca?
Tribeca stands apart in the market due to its dual-active formulation, delivering unmatched disease protection inside and out. It provides a robust contact and systemic mode of action, ensuring both immediate and long-term turf health benefits.
Key advantages include:
√ More than double the Fludioxonil per hectare than any other turf fungicide in Australia
√ Triggers fungal spores to absorb water rapidly, leading to cell rupture
√ Superior rain-fast properties, ensuring reliable disease control
√ Highly effective against ERI and Spring Dead Spot, with both preventative and curative applications
√ Protects leaves, crowns, and roots through combined systemic and contact activity
Targeting ERI & Spring Dead Spot
Currently, a major focus in turf management is controlling Ectotrophic Root Infecting Fungi (ERI) and Spring Dead Spot, which threaten the longevity and aesthetic quality of turf.

Take All Root Rot Ectotrophic Root Infecting Fungi (ERI)
Ectotrophic Root Infecting Fungi (ERI)
ERI fungi, including Gaeumannomyces avenae, Gaeumannomyces graminis and Ophiosphaerella narmari, can cause significant root damage, leading to reduced nutrient uptake, weaker turf, and increased susceptibility to environmental stress.
Tribeca’s dual-active formulation is especially effective in the autumn strategy, ensuring protection during the critical pre-winter period when turf health can decline.

Spring Dead Spot (Ophiosphaerella narmari)
Spring Dead Spot is one of the most destructive diseases for warm season turfgrass. If left unchecked, it causes patches of dead turf that are slow to recover, leading to unsightly and weakened playing surfaces.
Tribeca combats Spring Dead Spot with:
- • Preventative applications in late summer / early autumn or early spring to curb fungal spread before symptoms appear
- • Curative action to halt active infections, ensuring a fast recovery and protection against reoccurrence
How It Works: The Science Behind Tribeca
Fludioxonil (127 g/L) is a non-systemic contact fungicide that provides long residual protection by disrupting fungal cell osmosis, causing pathogen cells to absorb water rapidly and burst.
Triticonazole (194 g/L) is a DMI (Demethylation Inhibitor) fungicide that works systemically to inhibit fungal sterol biosynthesis, leading to the disruption of cell membranes and the eventual death of the fungus.
Together, these actives deliver:
-
- √ Rapid disease control
-
- √ Long-lasting protection
-
- √ Complete inside-and-out plant protection
Application Recommendations
To achieve optimal control of ERI (including Spring Dead Spot), Tribeca should be applied strategically:
- • Autumn Strategy: Preventative applications should be made from January to April, post-renovation, for ERI diseases including a follow-up treatment one month later for Spring Dead Spot control.
- • Spring / Summer Strategy: Preventative applications should be made from August / September based on disease activity thresholds such as soil temperature and geographical location.
- • For curative action, apply at the first sign of disease and reapply within 14 to 28 days if conditions favour continued fungal activity.
With proven control over 8 major turf diseases, including Anthracnose, Brown Patch, Dollar Spot, Fusarium, and Helminthosporium Disease, Tribeca is a valuable tool for any turf manager.
For those seeking reliable and long-lasting disease control, Tribeca offers a highly effective solution to help maintain healthy turf.
