Two turf industry experts join Living Turf

We were excited to welcome Peter Abel and Andrew Peart to the team this month.
Andrew (pictured left) joins Living Turf as an Agronomist, and will assist our technical services team in research, product & service development, consulting, training, & education. Andrew has been involved in the turf industry for over 25 years. After obtaining a BSC in Horticulture in 1991, Andrew joined the Sports Turf Research Institute in Bingley, UK for a 6-month period. In 1992 he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Horticultural Science, majoring in Turf Management from Massey University in New Zealand.

Andrew then joined Evergreen Turf in Pakenham Victoria, and later went on to pursue a career in research and consulting at Turfgrass Technology in 1999, before joining with John Neylan at AGCSATech, where he was employed for 15 years. Andrew’s time there was heavily invested in research, undertaking many Horticulture Australia and contract trials, while also providing numerous golf clubs and councils with agronomic advice with regards to improving their playing surfaces.

Peter Abel (pictured right) on the other hand, joins our QLD team as a technical sales representative, continuing to serve a territory from Yamba so South Brisbane, as he as done for the past 20 odd years. Peter started his apprenticeship at Ulverstone Golf Club in Tasmania in 1983 and attended Tech’ at Burnie. He went on to become a successful Golf Superintendent in NSW, working at Leonay Golf Club, and later Bardwell Valley Golf Course, before making the move to QLD in 2001. Peter’s sales pedigree and his industry relationships will be a welcome addition to our growing team.
